Slate-ish needs a very flat surface for proper adhesion.
If you are trying to put it over something that is not flat, the answer is no.
Other things that won’t work:
- over vinyl based wallpaper
- on unpainted drywall / sheetrock / cementboard, etc
- uneven surfaces
- areas just outside a fireplace opening (see our FAQ for more info)
