Technical Data

Slate-ish is a unique material.
We use scrap material to create a lightweight, durable wall tile.

Because we use varied sources of industrial waste paper-laminate for our material, we do not have specific testing data for Slate-ish. Using a recycled/reclaimed material makes this nearly impossible, as testing for one material source may not be the same as another.

We have not chemically altered the raw material, other than the light coating of water-based finishes to add surface color. We simply cut and mechanically split the compact laminate.

NOTE: Our raw material comes with a decorative melamine coating on both surfaces. When we cut and split the material, this melamine coating becomes the back of some pieces of our tile.
