Backsplash

Though we don’t often recommend it, there are occasions where using Slate-ish as a backsplash is a great idea - these images show placement where there is no sink or stove (so no actual splashing of water, food, or grease). Use your best judgement regarding the use of your space, and choose accordingly!

Just keep in mind that the rough and textured surface of Slate-ish will make it more difficult to clean up in the instance of spills or splashes.
SOOT is unsealed, and will easily show hard water, grease splatters, etc. You can seal SOOT, and it will darken to a deep black.
