Drought Tolerance
To weather droughts or survive in areas without consistent watering, plants have adapted by going dormant and waiting out the dry spells. We see this across Nebraska every year - the dry tan landscapes turn bright green in the spring.
So it is with Slate-ish. It's time for it to go dormant and make it to the next rainy season to bloom again.
For those of you who have been on the fence (or just waiting until your own rainy season) to pick up some Slate-ish for your project, there will be a bit more of a wait to get your order shipped. We will only be producing once every two weeks around our full-time jobs outside of Slate-ish. For the time being, our lead time will be now be 4 weeks for all orders.
To keep ourselves supported, we are both working outside Slate-ish for the first time in its history. Thankfully, we have been able to automate a lot of our processes. A day or two every couple weeks is all we need to get the few orders that still come through, out the door.
The drought will end. It is our intention and our job to be ready to send out green shoots when it does.
Until then, we thank you for your business and your patience.
Josh and Jen
Slate-ish
Edit/Update 9-2-24:
To be clear, Slate-ish will still be available through this down time!
We are changing the site, and after Friday, Sept. 6th, you will have to email us to order. We will invoice you for payment via Paypal. This allows us to keep our overhead to a minimum while Slate-ish is dormant.
The lead time will be around 4 weeks for all orders, so plan accordingly!
